About the 1908 BBQ

Housed in the historic Gibson’s Mercantile building dating back to 1908, 1908 BBQ & Bourbon seamlessly integrates old-world charm with modern flair. The rare red brick walls, absent in Methow Valley due to the lack of a railroad, make a striking impression. Original features like the steel cash register and a meticulously crafted black walnut bar by Luke Evans enhance the venue’s unique character. A standout is the beautifully refurbished Bush & Lane piano, a one-of-a-kind restoration by local expert Mike Kamansky, who utilized innovative 3D printing for a distinctive antique sound, enriching the vibrant atmosphere of the 1908 building.

In the heart of Methow Valley, 1908 Barbecue & Bourbon stands out as a culinary destination founded by Tyler and Nicky Krost, along with building owner Jenn Tate. The restaurant, born from a food truck venture, then transformed the valley’s oldest commercial building. The ambiance blends history and modern craftsmanship. From craft cocktails to delectable dishes, 1908’s commitment to quality creates a unique dining experience. This community-driven venture, fueled by the partners’ joy and passion, promises more than just a meal—it’s a celebration of Methow Valley’s rich heritage, making 1908 BBQ and Bourbon a vibrant addition to the Methow Valley and a must-visit eatery on your next trip here.
